If you live in Royal Greenwich, you can apply for an allotment at one of our 18 sites across the borough to grow your vegetables, fruits, or flowers.
Allotments are on a first-come, first-served basis. This means plots are offered to the next person in line as soon as one becomes available.
We can only add you to a waiting list for allotment plots we manage.
If the allotment is self-managed, you should contact the owners.
How to apply for an allotment
You’ll need to create a Royal Greenwich account.
Once logged in:
- enter your contact details
- select your preferred allotment site
- submit your application
You can only join the waiting list for one site. You cannot:
- choose a specific plot number
- apply for another plot if you already have one
What happens after you apply
Once you apply, we'll:
- review your application
- contact you within 14 days to confirm whether a plot is available
If a plot is not available, we'll add you to the waiting list. Once a plot is available, we'll send you an allotment letter.
If you have questions about your application or rental email us at allotments@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
What to do when you’re offered a plot
You’ll need to:
- accept the offer or cancel your request
- pay the invoice we send you
- collect your allotment keys from the Oxleas Woods Centre
If you've applied for a reduced rate, make sure you send us proof of your eligibility before making payment.
