Comment on our proposed Lane Rental Scheme

We're considering introducing a Lane Rental Scheme on some of our streets.  

This is in accordance with the Lane Rental Schemes: Guidance for English Highway Authorities issued by the Department for Transport.  

This is to limit disruption to the road network at times of high traffic.

How we developed the scheme

We’ve worked on the proposed scheme this with Transport for London and other London boroughs who have applied to operate Lane Rental.  

We have incorporated consultation feedback from other local authorities and changes from the Department for Transport’s assessment process.  

This is so that our proposal aligns with the 4 other local authorities (Enfield, Camden, Lambeth and Merton) whose applications have been approved.
