"Any loss of life on this scale is tragic and deeply upsetting. We strongly condemn these attacks - violence will never be the answer and the impact of these attacks is heartbreaking.  

"I know there will be residents in the borough who have strong links to the region and will be concerned for their loved ones. I urge our borough to continue to be the tolerant and sensitive place that we know it is during what has been a devastating few days."
