Applications for the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s BH365 programme (2023 to 2024) are now open until 9am on 14 August 2023.

If you are part of a community group or organisation who wants to deliver arts or heritage activities to celebrate Black history and culture, apply now for a BH365 grant. You will need to be able to deliver events from October 2023 to September 2024.

We care about listening to our communities and making sure our residents feel heard. That's why we are delighted to announce that for the first time, the BH365 2023/24 programme will be co-commissioned by a Community Advisory Panel of people who live, work, or study in the borough.

Councillor Anthony Okereke, Leader of Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “2023 is the first year that we will be working in collaboration with our residents and co-commissioning the BH365 programme alongside our new Community Advisory Panel. The BH365 programme is for, by and with our residents. I am looking forward to seeing the exciting proposals from our communities and local organisations and learning more about their events that celebrate Black culture and heritage in the borough.”

Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, said: “The BH365 programme plays a crucial role to help share and promote our African and Caribbean diaspora communities. There will be a whole array of activities that stimulate creativity, knowledge and learning and engage our residents in the borough’s cultural heritage.

“If you’re part of a group that provides arts, culture and heritage activities to a broad range of residents in your community, visit our website to find out if you’re eligible to apply for a grant to fund your project.”

The aim of the BH365 programme is to:

  • support organisations and groups to create a range of engaging performances, activities and events that showcase the culture and heritage of our Black diaspora communities

  • strengthen and deepen our understanding of Black history and the role of the African and Caribbean communities who have shaped the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the UK
