Holiday Food and Fun children playing cricket

Children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals can get a free holiday club place this Christmas through Holiday Food and Fun.

Our popular programme returns with activity clubs across the borough offering everything from coding to gymnastics during the festive break.

We’re encouraging kids to stay active and healthy during the Christmas holidays and every club will provide a free lunch and nutritional education too, so there’s no need to worry about meals.

If a child is aged between 4 and 16, and receives or is eligible for benefits related free school meals, they could be able to claim a spot at one of our participating clubs.

Cllr Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Christmas is an expensive period and at a time when many are worried about money, Holiday Food and Fun provides a great free opportunity for children to keep busy and active.

“It’s easy to claim a spot at your local club, and I know having visited that the activities on offer are really varied so there is something for every child’s interest.”

Holiday Food and Fun will run from 19 to 30 December.
