The Royal Borough of Greenwich is delighted to announce that it has retained all 13 of its coveted Green Flag awards. The Green Flag is an international award managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy which signifies that the winning park has the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

These awards are testament to how important the borough’s green spaces are to those who live, work and study here, as well as a recognition of the amazing hard work that the Royal Borough of Greenwich parks and open spaces staff put in. They work day in and day out to keep the green spaces well maintained and as healthy as possible, so that residents can enjoy them throughout the year.

We are also thrilled to say that Twinkle Park and Charlotte Turner Gardens won Green Flag Community awards, so a big congratulations to the Friends groups who have worked so hard to keep them looking so beautiful. 

Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities said:

“We’re so lucky to have so much green space on our doorstep and it’s an honour to see our parks recognised as some of the best in the country.

“I am thankful to all our parks and open spaces staff and Friends groups for their hard work to maintain these high standards, especially during the extreme heat of the last few weeks.

“As part our aim to make our borough cleaner and greener, we’re committed to delivering more Green Flag sites so that our residents can continue to enjoy exercising, relaxing and spending time with friends and family in outstanding local parks.”

• East Greenwich Pleasaunce
• Eltham Crematorium
• Eltham Park North and Eltham Park South (as one site)
• Fairy Hill Park
• Horn Park
• Maryon Park
• Sutcliffe Park
• The Tarn
• Well Hall Pleasaunce
