The Royal Borough of Greenwich is proud to be celebrating Foster Care Fortnight 2022.

We’re so grateful that our borough has a diverse network of dedicated foster carers who give time and love to young people when they need it most.

There are hundreds of children locally that want a loving, stable home. We urgently need more foster carers in Royal Greenwich to ensure that every young person has the best possible childhood.

Councillor Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “The love and dedication our foster carers show never fails to amaze me. By opening their homes, they are doing something truly remarkable, and they make us all proud.

“I cannot stress enough how urgently we need foster carers in Royal Greenwich. With fostering, you take on one of the most important jobs there is by caring for a child.

“If you have time and patience to give a young person when they need a home away from home, please contact us today and we can guide you through the process.”

Councillor Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, added: “There are many ways to grow your family, and I urge more Royal Greenwich residents to join our fostering community.

“I know how important fostering can be. Foster carers offer a loving, stable home to a child when they need one the most – that's something truly inspiring.”

This year’s Foster Care Fortnight campaign, which is organised by The Fostering Network, is all about #FosteringCommunities. We’ll be shining a light on the many ways people across the fostering community support each other and impact children’s lives.

You can follow the #FosteringCommunity conversation from 9-23 May on our social media channels, where our foster carers and staff will be sharing what makes fostering with Royal Greenwich so special.
