Across the borough, people will come together for wreath laying ceremonies, remembrance services, parades and a two-minute silence to honour those who lost their lives serving their country and to recognise all who continue to serve today.
Events are being organised with the support of the Abbey Wood and Thamesmead, Blackheath and Charlton, and Eltham and Well Hall branches of the Royal British Legion.
The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor David Gardner said: “Royal Greenwich has a proud military history and just recently we saw that pride on display as residents welcomed the 1st Battalion, Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment back to Woolwich.
“That same sense of community and gratitude is at the heart of Remembrance Day. It’s a time to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice, while recognising the dedication of those who continue to serve and the families that support them.
“Our commitment goes beyond remembrance, through our Armed Forces Covenant we have pledged to stand by serving personnel, veterans and their families. If you can’t attend to pay your respects at our events, we urge you to take part in the two-minute silence on Armistice Day at 11am.”
