Paid care workers across the Royal Borough of Greenwich are being encouraged to register for the launch of the new Greenwich Care Workers Network this March.
The network will bring together paid care workers from across the borough to connect, share experiences, access support and help shape the future of adult social care locally.
The Launch event will take place on Monday 23 March, from 7pm to 9pm at Christchurch Community Centre, Eltham. Register here.
The Greenwich Care Workers Network is open to all paid care workers living and/or working in the borough, including:
- Domiciliary care workers
- Residential carers
- Shared Lives carers
- Personal assistants
- Reablement workers
- Support workers
The event will provide an opportunity to meet fellow care professionals over a warm meal, hear about plans for the network and share ideas about what would make it most valuable to those working on the frontline of care. We will be joined by the Care Workers Charity as a speaker.
Councillor Mariam Lolavar, Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary said: "Our paid care workers play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable residents in our community and ensuring everyone’s health supports them to live their best lives. The Greenwich Care Workers Network is about recognising that contribution and creating a space where carers can connect, feel supported and have their voices heard.
“I would strongly encourage all paid care workers in the borough to be part of this important new network from the very beginning.”
Care workers who would like to attend are encouraged to register in advance to secure their place.
