Get moving in the great outdoors with free community Park Yoga sessions this summer as part of Greenwich Get Active.
The free sessions take place every Sunday until 13 September, from 9:30am to 10:30am in the peaceful and serene setting of Green Flag award-winning Eltham Park South.
No experience or booking is needed. Just bring your own mat or a towel or blanket and channel your inner yogi with the help of qualified instructor Hilary. The sessions take place next to the cafe.
Councillor Sandra Bauer, Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, said: “Getting active and spending time outdoors in nature are great ways to boost your physical and mental wellbeing.
“We’ve teamed up with Park Yoga to combine the two, making yoga accessible to all and connecting our communities in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
“Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or giving it a go for the first time, take part for free every Sunday morning at Eltham Park South throughout the summer.”
Park Yoga is just one of the many free ways to get active in parks and open spaces in Royal Greenwich. The borough is home to five parkruns, and two junior parkruns, the most of any London borough, as well as 16 outdoor gyms.
Residents can follow marked and measured routes, book a tennis court or borrow free cricket equipment from libraries to play on newly installed artificial wickets in Avery Hill Park, Charlton Park, Eltham Park South and Hornfair Park.
