Status update: Eglinton Hill, Genesta Road and Herbert Road

Transport and travel, road closure update

We’re happy to report that, following delays caused by the latest leak, Thames Water’s wastewater team have begun work on repairs to the waste pipe on Eglinton Hill.

Closures are in place on Eglinton Hill and Genesta Road but, due to the complexity of the works, Thames Water were unable to confirm the duration of the closure at this time.

The burst on Herbert Road has also been repaired, with engineers on site completing final checks. Water has been restored for all residents on Herbert Road. Concrete on the impacted area will require time to dry, but Thames Water expect the site to be cleared over the weekend.

After the council implemented traffic management measures and completed the required tree pruning, TfL successfully managed to test the diversionary 244 bus route. TfL expect that this diverted route will now in operation from tomorrow.

The council and TfL are actively exploring measures to allow for temporary stops along the diversion.

We’d like to apologise once again for the disruption and inconvenience that Thames Water’s works have caused to the area, and we really appreciate the patience of affected residents during this difficult time.
