A statement in response to the death of Eghosa Ogbebor, following a shooting on Lord Warwick Street at 3:40pm on Thursday 2 April. Two boys, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. They remain in custody.
A council spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with Eghosa’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. The death of someone so young is a loss that no parent or family should ever have to face.
“We have met with the Police and local partners to coordinate support during the school holidays and to stand with the local community.
“People in the local area where this attack took place have seen an increased presence from the Police and I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and speak to them.”
