Royal Borough of Greenwich local election results May 2026

Residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich voted for their new ward councillors in the 2026 local elections on Thursday 7 May. 

The borough is represented by 55 councillors, across 23 wards. 

The new Council is comprised of:

  • Labour - 35
  • Conservative - 6
  • Reform - 1
  • Green - 13

The overall turnout at polling stations across the borough was 41.8 per cent (81,331 ballot papers), higher than in 2022 when the turnout was 33.4 per cent (64,004 ballot papers).

Counters and supervisors worked on Friday 8 May at the Woolwich Waves Leisure Centre to deliver the results. The first ward to be declared was Eltham Page and the last was Woolwich Arsenal. 

Debbie Warren, Chief Executive of the Council said: “81,331, residents took part in the democratic process, a strong reflection of the engaged borough we have.  

“There’s a lot of work to be done but for now we’re pleased to have had a successful election, with 900 staff working together to allow people to carry out their right to vote.  

“Thank you to every person who was a part of making our democratic process run smoothly and to all our residents who voted on 7 May.” 

The names of the Council Leader, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Members will all be agreed at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 27 May.
