Let’s get the Woolwich Summer Lates party started! See what’s going on this weekend

Woolwich Summer Lates debuts this weekend. Expect a fun-filled, family-friendly weekend of sport, dance, music, movies and delicious food.   

Councillor Asli Mohammed, Cabinet Member for Economy, Town Centres and Co-operatives said: “We have three days of great entertainment for the opener – the weather will be glorious too – and this is just the start of our fantastic summer-long programme. Families, foodies and fans: there's something for everyone, so come to Woolwich this weekend!” 

Tomorrow, you can watch FIFA World Cup pre-match highlights on the Big Screen in General Gordon Square from 4pm and DJs from Taru Arts will start spinning ambient tunes from 5pm. Charlton Athletic Youth Engagement Team will also be there from 5pm, so join them for a game of pickleball. The Spain vs. Belgium FIFA World Cup Quarter Final will be shown in local pubs Dial Arch, The Earl of Chatham and Elephant & Castle from 8pm. 

On Saturday, Wimbledon highlights are being shown on the Big Screen in General Gordon Square from 2pm ready for the Women's Final to start at 4pm. Taru Arts will be DJing again to get you in the groove with dance performances at intervals between 2 and 6pm. The England vs. Norway FIFA World Cup Quarter Final will be showing at Dial Arch, The Earl of Chatham and Elephant & Castle from 10pm. 

On Sunday, grab your snacks for the screening of two sports-themed movies in Beresford Square: 'The Mighty Ducks' starts at 11am and 'King Richard' starts at 1pm. Warm up for the Wimbledon Men's Final with pre-game coverage on the Big Screen from 2pm for the main event at 4pm. Taru Arts will be DJing again with dance performances, and this time you can join an interactive dance workshop between 2 and 4pm.  

Our night food market in Beresford Square will be serving delicious flavours from around the world until 9pm, Friday through to Sunday. Get your tastebuds tingling and enjoy al fresco vibes in the sunshine with more outdoor seating across the town centre.
