The paddling pool remains closed due to nesting rodents which were found nearby the surrounding area during routine maintenance. Our priority is the health and safety of our residents which means we’ve been forced to close the pool. This is so we can drain the pool while we remedy the situation. Water tests will be carried out before the pool can be re-opened.
We understand how disappointing this must be for residents. We will update the public once the investigation has concluded and we have a clear timeline for reopening.
In the meantime, our other paddling pool at Winn’s Common remains open until 31 August. The fountains in Beresford Square are also perfect for little ones to have a splash and cool off, and there are concessions available at the nearby Charlton Lido. We also have lots of free and low-cost family activities across the borough to get involved with throughout the summer.
