Most Royal Greenwich students have received an offer to a preference secondary school for September 2026, with 60.2% of children setting off to their first choice, and 88.3% going to a school in one of their six preferences.
Offers went out on Monday 2 March to children who are taking the step from primary to secondary later this year. We’re reminding parents and carers that the deadline to respond to the offers is Monday 16 March 2026.
Thousands of students will Be Great in Greenwich by going to a school in the borough. We received 3,054 applications this year and 77.5% are heading to a Greenwich secondary school.
The decline in applications received this year reflects predicted falling demand for secondary school places in London, with 1.6% less received than in 2025.

It’s brilliant to see that most of our residents will be heading to a school in our borough that is their first preference.

You must respond to the offer by Monday 16 March 2026.
The offer letter or email will explain what you need to do next. You may need to accept the place by a given deadline – if you miss that, the offer could be withdrawn and the place given to someone else.
