Do you want to be one of the first to go down the slides, make a splash in the three swimming pools or relax in the spa at our new state-of-the-art leisure centre?
While Woolwich Waves doesn’t open officially until New Year’s Day 2026, the council is offering five families the chance to access all areas of the building in December.
Whether it’s having a kickabout on the 3G football pitch on the top floor or watching your little ones go wild in the toddler splash zone, this is your chance to try out what will be enjoyed by thousands over the years to come.
To be in with a chance of winning an access all areas pass, first, you need to be subscribed to our weekly resident newsletter, Greenwich Info. You can do that here, and you must be subscribed before our next edition is published on Friday 12 December. More details about how you can enter the competition will be in the next edition.
Cllr Sandra Bauer, Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, said: “I was lucky enough to be inside Woolwich Waves recently and I left feeling motivated and inspired – two words that are often associated with sport and fitness. It is very special place to be, and I have no doubt the winners of this brilliant prize will feel the same.
“So, please make sure you are subscribed to Greenwich Info and look out for this week's edition on Friday to be in with a chance of getting to experience Woolwich Waves before it opens on New Year’s Day.”
Once open, Woolwich Waves will be home to:
- Eight-lane, 25m swimming pool, a training pool with sensory and interactive light features, a leisure pool with jets and a jacuzzi, two water slides, and a toddler splash zone – all fully accessible with pool pods and hoists

- Two dance studios, 30-bike spinning studio, and bootcamp HIT studio
- Health suite with a spa and sauna as well as therapy rooms
