Due to a diesel spillage overnight (04 December) following a road collision, emergency resurfacing works are taking place on Plumstead Road.
The London Fire Brigade attempted to clear the spillage using granules, but this was unsuccessful. As a result, the road is closed eastbound between Warren Lane and Pettman Crescent while our highways contractor, Marlborough, carries out resurfacing today.
We understand the frustration that emergency incidents can cause, thankfully nobody has been hurt. We're working as quickly as we can to reopen the road once it's safe, which should be before this evening.
