While Thames Water have managed to repair the initial water leak, unfortunately the consequential damage caused requires further investigation, meaning roadworks remain in place.
In order for Thames Water to fully investigate the damaged road surface and potential knock-on effects on the underground gas main, they have closed the junction of Genesta Road and Eglinton Hill.
The 244 bus is diverted in both directions via Woolwich Common and Academy Road, while the 386 bus remains unaffected.
We are working closely with Thames Water and Southern Gas Network to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We will update residents and the wider public with more detailed information once we have it.
In the meantime, we advise you to check your journey before you travel and allow additional time if your route is impacted.
