Statement from Multifaith Forum on Manchester Synagogue Attack
As members of the Multi-faith community we are committed to peace, understanding, and mutual respect. We come together in deep sorrow and collective outrage over the horrific attack that claimed the lives of worshippers in a synagogue in Manchester.
We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community in Manchester and across the UK. You do not stand alone. We send our deepest condolences to all affected and our gratitude to the police and CST for their swift response.
We are heartbroken and outraged by the brutal and senseless attack that took the lives of innocent people in a sacred place of worship. This act of hatred and violence is not only an attack on the Jewish community, but on all of us who believe in human dignity, and the sanctity of life.
There is no justification for such a hateful act. We stand firmly in solidarity with the victims, their families. Antisemitism, in all its forms, must be condemned without hesitation. Our communities stand together across faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs to speak out, to educate, and to act.
Places of worship must be safe spaces for peace, prayer, and connection. We must work together to ensure that hate has no home in the Royal borough of Greenwich or anywhere.
May the memory of those lost be a blessing. May their families find comfort. And may we all recommit ourselves to building a world grounded in compassion, justice, and mutual respect.
As a multi-faith group, we reaffirm our commitment to building bridges across differences, rejecting bigotry in all its forms, and ensuring that our places of worship remain sanctuaries of peace and safety for all.
Please stand with us as we continue to work closely with those in the Royal Borough of Greenwich striving for a future rooted in love, justice, and shared humanity.
