Our statement on the 20th anniversary of the 7/7 London terror attacks
Councillor Anthony Okereke, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “This year marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating 7/7 London terror attacks. An appalling act of violence, today we remember those we lost, those who were injured and anyone who was impacted by cruel and shocking events that took place.
“Greenwich, like the rest of London and the UK, will take today as an opportunity to reflect and pay tribute. The violence will never be forgotten, but nor should the bravery of the emergency services, transport workers and other Londoners who put their own lives at risk to help others.
“On a dark day in our capital’s history, may we find some strength in the memory of those we loved, and how London will always unite in the face of terror.”
