Look out for each other this Mental Health Awareness Week

Everyone needs someone, whether it’s meeting a friend for a coffee, joining a fitness club or connecting with others who understand what you’re going through.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, the Royal Borough of Greenwich is shining a light on local organisations that are helping people feel seen, supported and connected.
Councillor Mariam Lolavar, Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary, said: “Having a community won’t solve everything but it’s an important start.
“We know that mental health challenges can feel isolating, but there are people and services out there who care and want to help. We’re proud to highlight some of the incredible support systems available across the borough.”
Throughout the week, we’ll be spotlighting groups and organisations making a difference every day to remind you, you are not alone.
The Proper Blokes Club
Men talking, walking and supporting each other. The Proper Blokes Club creates safe spaces for men to open up, reduce stigma, and walk side-by-side toward better mental health.
MumsAid
Supports mothers from pregnancy through to early motherhood, offering counselling and mental health support to help navigate the challenges of parenthood.
Headlinerz
This barber shop champions mental wellness through creativity, conversation and culture. With weekly sessions to sit down and talk over food, you are bound to find your people.
Dementia Carers Centre
For those caring for a loved one with dementia or living with it themselves, support is essential. The centre offers guidance, resources and a much-needed sense of solidarity for those that need it.
The support for mental health does not end there. This is just a small snippet of all the work going on in Royal Greenwich. Wherever you are on your mental health journey, help is at hand.
