Free led cycle rides around the borough
The Royal Borough of Greenwich is partnering with Eager Cycle Coaching to offer a series of free themed cycle rides in the months of April, May and June 2024.
There's something for everyone. Choose from family-friendly routes, longer social adventures, or commuter-focused rides and enjoy a fun and low-impact form of exercise.
Eager Cycle Coaching will be running the led-rides from different locations in the borough that fall under three categories:
-
Family led-rides that use primarily traffic-free routes.
-
Longer social led-rides for riders who can cycle with good control and who want to venture further afield.
-
Commuter-focused led-rides for adults thinking about cycling to work or college, or for those interested in exploring some of London’s newest cycling infrastructure.
Council spokesperson said: "Cycling is not only great for your physical fitness but can help boost your mood. We're happy to partner with Eager Cycle Coaching on these free led rides for people who live, study, or work in the borough. Whether you're a cycling pro or just starting out, there's a ride for you. Explore Greenwich, get active, and enjoy the benefits of cycling."

We will be running a selection of themed rides for both individuals and families and we are looking forward to welcoming as many people on the rides as possible so we can together experience the fantastic benefits and opportunities that cycling provides."
The rides will be delivered by experienced ride leaders, who will provide support along the way.
Please note that riders will need to bring their own cycles to attend the rides.
You must either live or work in the borough to be eligible to attend the rides, and minimum age restrictions apply.
