The Council shocked and appalled by suspected murder of two boys Royal Greenwich
The Royal Borough of Greenwich is shocked and appalled by the suspected murder of two 16-year-old boys in the Abbey Wood area on Saturday 26 November.
Cllr Anthony Okereke, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich said: “This is such a sad and shocking loss of a young life, and my thoughts – all our thoughts – are with Charlie and Kearne’s families at this awful time.
“Too many of our young people are losing their lives to senseless violence. Something needs to change – our young people deserve to grow old.”
Cllr Ann-Marie Cousins, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Enforcement said: “We cannot tolerate violence on our streets and we must work together to tackle violent crime.”
The Council continues to work closely with the police and will do whatever it can to support the ongoing investigation.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a dark coloured SUV or 4x4 type vehicle with distinctive silver roof bars in the areas around Sewell Road or Titmuss Avenue in the days before, and prior to the murders.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, giving the reference 4943/26NOV, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.
