If your business is in a controlled parking zone (CPZ), you may be eligible for a business parking permit for vehicles that are used for business reasons.
Business permits are virtual permits and are valid for 12 months from the chosen start date.
A business permit is only valid in the CPZ it was issued for. Having a permit does not guarantee you a parking space or give you the right to park outside your business.
Employees of a business cannot use a business parking permit to park their own car at their place of work.
Who can apply
Your business must be registered at an address in a CPZ in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Enter the postcode of your registered business address to find out more information about business permits in your CPZ, including how much it costs. Not all addresses in a CPZ are entitled to a permit.
If your business has more than one vehicle
A business permit can have up to 2 vehicles registered to it, but it will only be valid for use on one vehicle at a time.
You can manage which vehicles are registered to your permit in your online account. You must make sure your permit is assigned to the correct vehicle or you could get a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
You can apply and pay for a new business parking permit online.
You’ll need to create an online account if you do not already have one.
You can manage and renew your virtual permit in your online account.
Renew a business parking permit
If your business parking permit is due to expire you should apply and pay for a renewal online.
If you have a paper permit, continue to display it until your virtual permit has been issued.
Apply for a new business parking permit
When you apply for a new business permit, you’ll be asked to upload some documents about your business name and address and the vehicle or vehicles you want a permit for.
What you need to apply
You'll need one document that shows your business name and address. This must be dated within the last 3 months, such as a:
- utility bill
- Royal Borough of Greenwich business rates form
- letter from HMRC addressed to your business
You will also need a credit or debit card for payment.
What happens next
When you’ve completed the online application and paid the fee, your virtual permit will be issued and ready to use straight away. You’ll get an email to confirm this.
If you cannot apply online, call our contact centre on 020 8921 4339.
