You can apply for a nanny parking permit if you employ a nanny.
Nanny permits are virtual permits and are valid for 12 months from the chosen start date.
Who can apply
You must live at an eligible address within a controlled parking zone (CPZ) in the borough to apply for a nanny permit.
Enter your postcode to find out more information about nanny permits in your CPZ, including how much it costs. Not all addresses in a CPZ are entitled to a permit.
You can apply and pay for a new nanny parking permit or renew an existing one online.
You’ll need to create an online account if you do not already have one.
Renew a nanny parking permit
If your nanny parking permit is due to expire you should apply and pay for a renewal online.
You can apply to renew your permit up to 30 days before your existing permit expires. We recommend you do this in good time in case we need to contact you about your application.
If you have a paper permit, continue to display it until your virtual permit has been issued. You’ll get an email to confirm this.
Apply for a new nanny parking permit
When you apply for a new nanny permit, you’ll be asked to upload some documents about where you live, the vehicle you want a permit for and your nanny’s employment.
What you need to apply
You'll need one document that shows your name and address. This must be dated within the last 3 months, such as:
- a utility or council tax bill
- proof of any benefits or pensions you get
- a bank or building society statement
- a tenancy agreement or solicitors' letter with completion date if you’re a new resident
You cannot use a driving licence as proof of address.
You’ll also need one document to show that your nanny either owns the vehicle or is insured to drive it, such as:
- the Vehicle Registration Document
- hire or leasing agreement
- proof that your nanny is the named driver on the insurance policy if they do not own the vehicle
You’ll also need to upload your nanny’s contract of employment.
You will need a credit or debit card for payment.
What happens next
When you’ve completed the online application and paid the fee, your virtual permit will be issued and ready to use straight away. You’ll get an email to confirm this.
