Register for support to develop confidence in parenting
We can work with you for free over a series of meetings using Video Interaction Guidance (VIG).
During these sessions, you will be working one-to-one with an educational psychologist. VIG is a strengths-based, effective, brief intervention for parents and carers of children across all ages.
The aim of this process is support you to:
- build your confidence as a parent or carer
- reduce your stress and manage difficult situations
- read your child’s cues
- boost your child’s learning, social and emotional wellbeing
- build a relationship of trust, respect and fun
We will begin by identifying a goal for you to achieve such as building a closer relationship with your child or helping your child listen to you better.
A VIG practitioner will then film you with your child or baby for a few minutes and review the clip to look for moments of connection. We focus on what is working well to support you towards a goal.
This can help you to move towards a new, positive mindset about:
- yourself as a parent or carer
- your child
- your relationship with your child
You can register for a place if you have a child under 2 years old and identify as one of the following:
- Black and Global Majority Families
- families with children with a special educational need or disability (SEND) or parents that have SEND
- fathers and co-parents
- young mothers
