
Royal Borough of Greenwich is marking Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day between 11 and 14 November with a number of memorial events.
The Royal British Legion has organised the following wreath laying Remembrance events across Royal Greenwich. If you are attending an indoor event, you may be asked to wear a face covering
Thursday 11 November - Armistice Day
Woolwich Town Hall | 11am
A two minutes silence will be observed for Armistice Day in memory of those who fought and died or were injured in the causes of peace and freedom.
Friday 12 November
Greenwich Cemetery War Memorial, SE9 | 3.15pm
Wreath laying ceremony
Saturday 13 November
There will be wreath laying ceremonies at the following locations:
Thamesmead Clocktower, SE28 | 10.45am
Maze Hill War Memorial, SE3 | 10.45am
St John's Church War Memorial, SE3 | 11.15am
St Luke's Church War Memorial, SE7 | 11.45am
Plumstead Cemetery War Memorial, SE18 | 12pm
Cemetery Lane War Memorial, SE7 | 12.15am
Sunday 14 November - Remembrance Sunday
Eltham | 10.40am
There will be a parade of veterans, ex-service people, cadets, and youth organisations followed by a wreath laying ceremony at Eltham War Memorial. A two minute silence will be held at 11am
This ceremony will then continue at St Johns Church on Eltham Hill with Remembrance service.
Abbey Wood | 10.45am
There will be a Remembrance service at St Michaels Church and All Angels Church.
This will be followed by a Wreath laying service at the Abbey Wood Gardens.
