If you live in Royal Greenwich, you can apply for an allotment at one of our 18 sites across the borough to grow your fruits and vegetables.
Allotments are on a first-come, first-served basis. This means plots are offered to the next person in line as soon as one becomes available.
We can only add you to a waiting list for allotment plots we manage.
If the allotment is self-managed, you should contact the relevant allotment society.
How to apply for an allotment
You’ll need to create a Royal Greenwich account.
Once logged in:
- enter your contact details
- select your preferred allotment site
- submit your application
You can only join the waiting list for one site. You cannot:
- choose a specific plot number
- apply for another plot if you already have one
What happens after you apply
Once you apply, we will automatically add you to the waiting list for the allotment site you applied for.
If the waiting list for your chosen site is closed, you will not be able to join it. Check our website regularly, as waiting lists are reopened when a space becomes available.
If you have any questions about your application, email us at allotments@royalgreenwich.gov.uk.
What to do when you’re offered a plot
You’ll need to:
- accept the offer or cancel your request
- pay the invoice we send you
- collect your allotment keys from the Oxleas Woods Centre
If you've applied for a reduced rate, make sure you send us proof of your eligibility before making payment.
