New homes for The Underwood
Greenwich residents are in urgent need of affordable housing, and as part of our commitment to addressing this crisis we’re embarking upon a new, large-scale programme of home-building across the borough.
One of the areas we're looking to build is in The Underwood, and we’re keen to hear the views of those living in the surrounding area.
Where we might build
You can see the area we're thinking of building on marked on the map below:
What we're thinking of building
Our current plans are for eight two-bedroom flats and three wheelchair-accessible three-bedroom flats with 10 on-site parking spaces, however these early plans are subject to change. You can see very early designs for how the new home could look below:
When we hope to start building
Following our consultation with residents we hope to submit a planning application in autumn 2019. If planning approval is given we would anticipate building work beginning in spring 2020, and the homes being finished in summer 2020.
How you can have your say
We consulted with local residents at a meeting and online in September 2019. We will write to you before we submit our planning application, letting you know how your comments were taken into consideration in our final plans. If you have any questions about the development please contact us at greenwich.builds@royalgreenwich.gov.uk.
