What is a partnership?

Royal Borough of Greenwich works in partnership with many local and regional agencies and organisations.

We work in partnership with other organisations to improve our capacity to deliver services to you.

This also helps to ensure that our services work well with other public services in the local area.

  • The partnership uses sports and arts to build links within communities.

It creates platforms for interaction and communication between groups and individuals who might not otherwise have associated with each other. This helps to build positive relationships and a sense of community.

The project, established in 1992, is now managed by Charlton Athletic Community Trust. The Royal Borough and Charlton Athletic Football Club chair the advisory group, which directs the partnership.

  • The team was set up following the government's Tackling Drugs Together white paper in 1995. It involves key local organisations, at chief officer level, working with local authorities.

    Members:

    • Royal Borough of Greenwich
    • Health Authority
    • Police.
  • The agency is made up of local residents, businesses, voluntary and community groups and the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

It's aim is to achieve improvements for the quality of life for all residents, visitors, workers and businesses to enjoy.

The partnership creates an open and transparent relationship to:

    • deliver the Homes and Communities Agency's (HCA) National Affordable Housing Programme (NAHP) in Royal Greenwich
    • maximise capital investment into the borough and the wider south-east London sub region, to improve the quantity and quality of affordable housing. This includes the associated economic, social and environmental requirements to regenerate neighbourhoods and create sustainable, good quality, mixed tenure communities
    • maintain a list of local partners for developing schemes in the Royal Borough, including support for black, minority and ethnic communities and specialist partners.
    • set joint standards for programme delivery, delivering Housing Plus initiatives and management of homes across all tenures, in line with good practice to achieve greater efficiency.
