We'll be surveying the condition of all council homes in the borough from 2025 to 2029.

It involves a quick visual check of the inside and outside of your home.

We use it to understand the overall condition of your home and plan future work it may need. It also gives us important information about the structural safety of your home.

The survey is about your home's condition, not your tenancy or what you pay.

We're working with 3 consultants to carry out this work for us. They are:

  • Martin Arnold
  • Potter Raper
  • FFT

Read our news article about the survey.

When your survey will take place

A Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) will contact you to arrange an appointment.

In some cases, the consultant may contact you directly.

What happens during the survey

If you're a council tenant, the surveyor will look around each room of your home. They'll make notes and they might take photos.

They will not use any tools, move or remove anything. It should take around 30 to 40 minutes.

If you're a leaseholder, the surveyor will only look at the outside of your home or block. They will not need to come in.

Allowing access to your property

It's important to book an appointment to have the survey done when we contact you.

As part of your tenancy agreement, it's important that you allow the surveyor to carry out the survey.

Without the survey, we may not include your home in upcoming investment programmes.

If we cannot gain access to your home, we could take legal action. Please work with us to help us complete this important work.

Access arrangements for a disability or medical need

If someone in your household has a disability or other medical need, let your RLO know.

You can also tell us by email: capital-investment-admin@royalgreenwich.gov.uk.

We'll make sure we handle everything with care and flexibility.
