You can apply for help if you’re struggling to pay your rent, housing costs or Council Tax.
This is a short, one-off payment if you’re facing exceptional financial hardship.
If we accept your application for, you could get a:
- Crisis payment fund to help pay your rent or housing costs
- Council Tax Hardship Fund to help pay your Council Tax if you get or have applied for Council Tax support
If you are in an emergency financial situation that is not related to housing costs or council tax, apply for a Crisis payment.
How we assess your application
We consider everything you tell us about your situation to make our decision.
We look at your individual circumstances, including:
- health conditions or disabilities
- caring responsibilities
- changes in your household or income
- changes to your home to adapt to your disability
- any other reasons you cannot meet your living costs, such as high utility and food bills
Give as much information in your application as you can.
If you cannot apply online
If you cannot use the online form, download and fill the paper application form.
Once you've completed the form, you can:
- email a scanned copy or clear photos of the completed form to benefits@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
- submit at The Woolwich Centre during opening hours
- post it to:
