Funding for voluntary and community organisations in Royal Greenwich

About the VCFS grant programme

We are launching a new round of our 4-year grant programme to support voluntary, community and faith organisations (VCFS) in Royal Greenwich.

This is part of an RBG investment programme for the voluntary, community and faith sector through a suite of grants, commissioned contracts and partnerships arrangements.

The VCFS Grant Programme 2027 to 2031 will build on this by supporting organisations to:

  • Deliver activities that meet local needs
  • Work in partnership with other organisations
  • Strengthen skills, capacity and sustainability
  • Involve communities in shaping services

This funding will support organisations with activities, reach communities most in need, and help improve health and wellbeing across the borough.

Who the funding is for

Funding will prioritise work supporting residents who experience the greatest inequalities, including:

  • carers, including young carers
  • young people in social care
  • people with learning disabilities or autism
  • people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping
  • families affected by domestic abuse
  • people facing social exclusion or health inequalities
  • sanctuary seekers
  • people experiencing mental health difficulties, including people affected by addictions

What funding is available

There are different types of funding to support organisations at different stages of development and delivery.

We'll announce more information about these grants later this year.

Themed grants

For organisations delivering activities linked to council priorities. This will be going live later this summer.

These grants support:

  • projects that address identified needs in the borough
  • work that improves outcomes for priorities groups

Funding will be aligned to specific themes and outcomes set by the council.

We will publish more information on our themes in our prospectus soon.

Small grants

For organisations testing new ideas or delivering small-scale community projects.

These grants are suitable for:

  • grassroots organisations
  • early-stage projects
  • activities that respond to a specific local need

Funding can be used to pilot new approaches or reach communities that are not currently supported.

Development funding

For organisations that want to grow or strengthen how they work.

This can include:

  • building organisational capacity
  • developing skills, systems or governance
  • preparing to deliver larger services in the future

This funding is aimed at helping organisations become more sustainable and ready to take on commissioned work.
