An inspiring evening of choral music that spans the centuries from the 16th century to the current day in celebration of sixty years of Thomas Tallis Society.
Highlights include:
- Splendid polychoral works by JL Bach and Gabrieli performed in the magnificence of St Alfege Church
- Two modern day world premieres of pieces by Ahle and Knüpfer, both contemporaries of JS Bach
- The first performances of two special new commissions for TTS by Anna Semple and Eoghan Desmond using texts taken from two of Thomas Tallis' most popular motets
- Well-loved music by Mozart and Tallis including Ave Verum and Sancta Maria
The Thomas Tallis Society Choir will be conducted by Eamonn Dougan and accompanied by the English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble.
The concert will be followed by a celebration in the church hall where all are most welcome.
