This workshop forms part of a two-day programme designed to support health and wellbeing projects in successfully launching, growing, and remaining sustainable.

Day 1 focuses on developing an understanding of organisational structures, governance responsibilities, and compliance requirements needed to build strong, accountable organisations.

Participants will gain practical guidance on:

  • Choosing and reviewing the most appropriate organisational structure, including Social Enterprises, Co-operatives, Charities, CICs and Limited Companies
  • Registering with Companies House and maintaining accurate records
  • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of directors, trustees and members
  • Governance best practices, including how to review and strengthen existing frameworks
  • Financial reporting, transparency and statutory obligations


The session will also include a practical compliance checklist walkthrough to help participants identify key actions required to operate effectively and responsibly.This workshop is suitable for community organisations, start-ups, social entrepreneurs, and anyone developing health and wellbeing initiatives within their community.
