Plumstead Make Merry is a beloved free community festival bringing together the best of local creativity, culture and community spirit on the beautiful open space of Plumstead Common. Now proudly in its 51st year, it holds the distinction of being the longest-running community festival in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Across one action-packed day, the festival draws together live bands, choirs, dance companies, morris dancers, spoken word poets and creative workshops, alongside more than 80 stalls showcasing local makers, artists, street food vendors and community organisations.
Music lovers can expect an eclectic programme spanning dad rock, pop, jazz, classical, folk, country and soul, while families are well catered for with bouncy castles, face painting, Irish dancing, sports activities and hands-on creative workshops for all ages.
This year's festival also marks a landmark moment: a special musical celebration commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Plumstead Common Riot, the historic act of resistance that secured the Common as public land for all. Joining the celebrations will be performances from local schools, choirs, dance groups and artists from across Plumstead and Greenwich.
Free to attend. All welcome.
