Having worked with many new businesses, GCDA understands that social media can be an area of confusion and complexity, but also one filled with hope and possibility.
Led by an industry expert, this six-week course, delivered over six consecutive Thursdays, is specifically designed for new and start-up businesses. It will support participants in setting up social media accounts and using them effectively to build their brand and customer base.
Participants will learn a range of simple, effective techniques to help them maximise the opportunities offered by social media while avoiding common pitfalls.
By the end of the six-week course, participants will be able to:
- Summarise the importance of social media for new businesses.
- Complete a social media health check for a business.
- Identify the most appropriate social media platforms for a business and set up the relevant accounts.
- Link social media accounts for promotional purposes.
- Measure the impact of social media on their business.
- Identify common social media pitfalls and explain how to avoid them.
Due to the high number of people booking places on GCDA courses and not attending, GCDA now requires a £10 deposit for each course to help secure attendance.
Participants will be eligible to have their deposit refunded if they attend every session.
Anyone with questions, or for whom the £10 deposit presents a financial barrier, should contact Learning@gcda.org.uk.
