Sophie Baxter is a cellist from Lincolnshire, and is a tutor at Blackheath Conservatoire.
She studied a master’s degree in cello performance at Trinity Laban with David Cohen and Sally Pendlebury. She also studied music at Durham University, and has a PGCE in group instrumental teaching awarded by the London based charity ‘Music Masters’.
Sophie is a committed chamber musician, and has previously performed at Wigmore Hall with her clarinet quintet and piano trio, at the British Isles Music Festival, and the Lunigiana International Music Festival.
Miaoyan Li was born and raised in China and completed her master’s studies in piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She has been playing the piano since the age of four, and before coming to the UK, she studied piano with Jingqi Li in Steinway partnered piano studios in Shanghai. As a chamber musician she works with a number of groups, and regularly performs around London and the UK.
All ages are welcome, including babies and children. Entry is free with no need to book and there is an optional retiring collection at the end - all donations go directly to the performers. These concerts are, quite understandably, very popular! Please arrive promptly to avoid disappointment - we may not be able to admit latecomers. We also may not have room for buggies - please use our buggy park. Running time is usually 45-60 mins.
