Art exhibit: Features From The Black

Features From The Black showcases a wide range of Black art from the diaspora, offering perspectives from emerging artists who are navigating the challenges of being born, living in, or being culturally tied to the UK.

It is an ambitious, large-scale exhibition that aims to demonstrate the works of emerging Black artists who are looking to take their practice to the next level with scale and awe-inspiring artwork.

The roster ranges from students and graduates of the UK’s finest art schools to talented self-taught artisans, exhibiting across different disciplines and mediums.

Rather than setting strict parameters of a narrow subject matter or theme, the exhibition aims to communicate the narrative of Blackness through four main facets: the historical, the contemporary, the mythical, and through an urbanised lens.

Inspired by In the Black Fantastic exhibition in 2022, expect a variety of art forms from paintings to sculptures; textile art to poetry soundscapes. But most of all, expect an epic Black art experience.
