Apply for a single person Council Tax discount

If you get the single person Council Tax discount, we'll check your eligibility every year.

We'll send you a letter to ask you to confirm your current circumstances. If you do not respond within 21 days, we'll remove the discount from your bill.  

How to confirm your eligibility

Fill in the form on the back of the letter and return it to us by post or email.

What happens next

We may ask you for more information or ask you about something you've told us.

If you're still eligible, we'll apply the discount to your new bill.

If you're not eligible, we'll remove the discount. We'll do this from the beginning of the last billing year or earlier, depending on when we last checked your eligibility. We'll send you an updated bill.
