If you do have a bonfire, you must: 

  • only burn dry garden waste
  • make sure smoke does not cause a nuisance 

You should also limit the amount of smoke and consider the direction it’s likely to go. 

You could get a fine if you allow smoke to drift and become a danger to traffic.
