If you’re a homeowner
We cannot help you to get rid of pests, but you can:
- find a BPCA-registered pest controller
- check GOV.UK for how to control pests yourself
- contact the Fox Project for help with foxes
- contact the Bat Conservation Trust for help with bats
- contact the RSPCA about an injured wild animal
- contact our Environmental Health team for advice
When to contact Environmental Health
You can do this if:
- you think pests are coming from a neighbour’s property
- you've tried to work with your neighbour to get rid of the pests but the problem is still happening
- you cannot work with your neighbour to get rid of the pests

If you’re a private tenant
Your landlord must keep your rented property safe and free from health hazards. This might include paying for pest control treatments.
Check who’s responsible for dealing with pests (Citizens Advice).
