Bin a knife or weapon safely and anonymously

If you find a knife or anything you think could be a weapon, do not touch it. Check how to report a knife or knife-related incident.

Use a knife amnesty bin 

We’ve installed 4 knife amnesty bins in the borough. You can use them to get rid of a knife or dangerous weapon anonymously and safely without fear of prosecution.

Find a knife amnesty bin in: 

  • Abbey Wood: Eynsham Drive with Finchdale Road, SE2 - near the Abbey Wood library, at the back of the Old Council Office 

  • Eltham: Sutcliffe Park, Meadowside, SE9 - to the right of the main entrance on Eltham Road 

  • Thamesmead: Hutchins Road, SE28 8AT 

  • Woolwich Town Centre: Calderwood Street, at the junction with Powis Street 

You can also hand in a knife to the police. Call 101 or contact your Safer Neighbourhood Police team.
