Greenwich Young People's Council (GYPC)

Greenwich Young People's Council (GYPC) is a strategic forum for young people to represent the views, concerns and aspirations of children and young people in Royal Greenwich.

They strive for improved outcomes and influence decision-making across the council.

Representatives serve for a two-year term following a democratic elections process in their schools and youth hubs.

They work to deliver against manifesto priorities, including running campaigns and collaborating with councillors, to make a difference in their schools and wider communities.

Our priorities

Our 2025 to 2027 priorities focus on breaking barriers, keeping each other safe, and building a future where young people are supported to reach their full potential.

Life skills in preparation for adulthood

GYPC believes young people need better access to meaningful work experience, life skills and job opportunities, and high-quality career education.

Safety for young women

GYPC believes in protecting young women and girls and tackling harmful behaviours.

Cost of living support

GYPC believes that families and young people need more support with the rising cost of living.

Spaces for young people

GYPC believes that young people need more safe, accessible spaces to build community, unleash potential hobbies, and speak out on matters affecting them.
