Register a mail-forwarding business
You need to register with us if you operate a business in Royal Greenwich that offers:
- a virtual office
- an accommodation address
- mail-forwarding or holding service
To register with us you need to:
- download and complete an application form
- return the form to us along with the one-off registration fee of £123.30
We'll issue a certificate of registration on receipt of the application.

Client records
You must keep records of all your clients, including copies of their:
- identification (ID)
- proof of address
This legal control was introduced under the London Local Authorities Act 2007.
Failing to register or keep records as required, or making false entries could result in a maximum fine of £5,000.
Your clients must provide 2 documents, one from each list.
Proof of identity
This must be a photo ID:
- blue badge (for disabled drivers)
- driving licence (with photocard)
- employment ID card
- HM Forces ID card
- national ID card
- passport
- student card
Proof of address
This must show both name and address:
- bank or building society statement
- benefit book
- Benefits Agency letter
- credit card or store card bill
- Council Tax bill
- financial statement, such as a pension or endowment
- gas, electricity, water or phone bill
- mortgage statement
- P45 or P60 statement
- payslip
- student residence agreement or other proof of accommodation
- tax coding notice from HM Revenue and Customs
- television licence
- valid insurance certificate
