About premises alcohol licences

You need a premises alcohol licence for any premises or site offering licensable activities. Examples of licensable activities are: 

  • the sale of alcohol
  • the provision of regulated entertainment, such as plays, live music, recorded music and dance - exemptions apply
  • indoor sport and boxing
  • the sale of hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am - exemptions apply
