About premises alcohol licences

You need a premises licence to provide any licensable activity from a specific venue.

Licensable activities are: 

  • selling alcohol
  • serving hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am
  • offering regulated entertainment, such as plays, live music, recorded music and dance
  • indoor sport and boxing 

Some exemptions apply.
