Stage 4: Establishing the continuity culture
Once you've completed your Business continuity management (BCM) plan, you need to make sure the right people know about it.
You need to provide training or briefing sessions for:
- staff who are responsible for activating the plan – cover every element of the plan and its activation
- board members or trustees – provide an overview with key information
- all other staff – raise awareness, key contacts and relevant response plans
Other stakeholders
You should inform a range of stakeholders about the general provisions within the plan.
For example:
- investors – they’ll want to know how they're protected in an emergency
- your insurance company - this could reduce your premium
- key suppliers - to help them understand how you'd operate in an emergency
