Royal Greenwich Cultural Impact Award

We have received a Cultural Impact Award from the Mayor of London.

Royal Greenwich was one of 3 boroughs awarded funding to deliver creative projects in their communities in 2026.

This award allows us to support new cultural and heritage activity programs between 2026 and 2027.

The programme is funded through the Cultural Impact Award, part of the Mayor of London’s London Borough of Culture programme.

It also has additional funding from:

  • the National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • the Royal Borough of Greenwich

What the award will support

The Cultural Impact Award will fund a programme that brings together young people, local cultural partners and heritage organisations.

Young people in the borough will co-create the programme, which will culminate in three free public events in 2026 and 2027.

It will also support efforts to digitise the borough’s archives and catalogue the museum collection, making it easier for residents to explore local heritage.

Tramshed, the Creative Programme Partner, will work with young people to develop and deliver the events.

The programme will also include training and work experience opportunities to support pathways into careers in culture and heritage.

Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust, the Heritage Service Partner, will lead the work to digitise archive material and catalogue the museum collection.

This will improve access while the council and the Trust continue to look for a permanent home for the collections.

How to get involved

Contact culture@royalgreenwich.gov.uk if you are a local arts, cultural, or heritage organisation or a community group and would like to explore opportunities to get involved.

We will provide more details as the programme develops.
